Self Flex Apparel is a D(M)V based, streetwear, clothing brand that was created with the intent to inspire youth and young adults to focus less on flexing what they HAVE and how much they make, and focus more on flexing THEMSELVES, who they are, and all they have to offer the world as unique individuals.

Self Flex Apparel is solo-run by youth entrepreneur, Jayana Wood.

Jayana is a creative and artistic 20-year-old who, in addition to running her own clothing company, is a self-taught henna artist, six-time author, and three-time Amazon #1 Bestseller.

She is currently a Freshman in college attending Full Sail University’s online program for Creative Writing, as it is her underlying dream to finish her ongoing fiction novel series, The Exoneration Series, and turn it into a TV series.

Jayana wrote her first book Opening My Imagination at age 9, her second book The Little Book of Youth Tips at age 11, and her third book Dawn of a New Day—as well as her first novel—at age 16. Throughout all her endeavors, Wood hopes to continue inspiring youth and young adults, like herself, to dream big, pursue their goals, and become leaders who pave the way to success for others who follow behind them.

She graduated from Oxon Hill High School in May of 2022 as a graduate of the STEM program, where she was a contributing writer for the school newsletter and Drama club.

Jayana has been featured in the Baltimore Times, The Washington Informer, Fox 45 News, “Let’s Talk Live” News Channel 8, Prince George’s County Television, and numerous radio shows. She is also the recipient of the 2019 Teen Speaker of the Year Award, 2016 Youthpreneur of the Year Award, and the 2014 Youthpreneur STAR Award.

She is the proud big sister to two younger brothers—James and Jalen.
